Recently I was contacted as the owner of To Be a Doll Official to participate in a tv show about young people empowering themselves by following different lifestyles (fashion, hobbies, jobs, ect.) I elected to give it a go and was sent a questionnaire as apart of the application. Upon seeing the application I was very disappointed to see that the questions were mostly negative based, ( “whom disapproves of your lifestyle”, “why do people disapprove”, “how to you deal with negativity” and many similar). I went ahead and filled it out as best I could, focusing on how positive this blog is, how all inclusive we are, how I created this blog to help people not only learn about and appreciate this fashion, but to also help raise peoples self esteem through this fashion. I sent it in and within days I received an email stating that they decided against using us. I very much feel that the network wanted to have a show about how negative this fashion is and focus only on the hate instead how we are empowering people through fashion, like they had stated. I have seen a large lack of positive based media for living doll fashion followers and wish to change that. I have decided that we are going to make our own documentary on living doll fashion and how it has influenced peoples lives for the better. No “scripting”, no negative based prompting, no sneaky editing. Made by dolls, for dolls. I want to include as many people within the fashion as I can. This is a home done documentary, in which all participants will film their answers to a series of questions, outfits, and anything extra they wish to include. If you wish to participate please let me know so I can send you the questions and requirements (Backdrop, camera, simple things to make it more professional looking). I look forward to hearing from everyone.
